Conflict is not the problem.
How we move through it is.

Yasmeen has spent more than two decades helping people find their way through conflict — from families navigating divorce in upstate New York to governments negotiating climate agreements on the world stage. Her practice is built on a simple conviction: that most disputes, however complex, contain within them the conditions for resolution.

Trained at Harvard Law's Program on Negotiation and Cornell's Scheinman Institute, Yasmeen brings legal precision and deep human fluency to every room she enters. She is a New York court-certified mediator, conflict coach, and certified divorce mediator, with a practice that spans family, employment, civil, and international matters.

Yasmeen began her legal career in 2001, working across family law, criminal defense, personal injury, and civil litigation. That foundation — an understanding of what adversarial processes cost people — is what drives her commitment to mediation and restorative approaches that preserve relationships, not just resolve disputes.

Yasmeen maintains an active practice in New York and Colorado, and mediates nationally and internationally.

Democracy works best when
people can still talk to each other.

Political conflict is among the most entrenched — and most consequential — kind. Yasmeen works with elected officials, legislative bodies, political organizations, and civic leaders to create structured conditions for dialogue across partisan lines. The goal is never to eliminate disagreement, but to make it productive.

Drawing on her background in community dialogue, restorative practice, and two decades of mediation experience, Yasmeen facilitates conversations that most people have given up on — helping leaders find common ground without asking them to abandon their convictions.
